🏯 Mezhyhirya National Park

Location: Novye Petrovtsy village, Vyshgorodsky district.

How long to go: half an hour from Obolon, 40 minutes from the center of Kyiv.

To the north of the capital, towards Vyshgorod, there is the Mezhyhirya National Park. The fate of this object is very interesting: at first, it was a state residence, then the estate passed into private ownership, and after the flight of President Yanukovych, it received the status of a National Park.

In the warm season, you can spend the whole day in the park - go on an excursion, have a picnic. The grounds cover an area of ​​140 hectares - on the territory, there is a beautiful lake embankment, a garage with rare cars, a dog kennel, and a zoo (its superstars are, of course, ostriches).

Since the reign of the disgraced president, new sights have appeared here - for example, the giant Pochekun figure on the Honka stairs. Skating lovers can rent a segway or a bicycle.

Important! But the dog can be left at the Dogchill Mezhyhirya site - professional dog sitters will take care of the four-legged dog.

🌷 Dobropark Dendrological Park

Location: Motyzhin village, Makarovsky district.

How long to travel: from the Zhytomyrska metro station - 25 minutes, if you drive around the city by car - 40-70 minutes.

The private arboretum Dobropark was opened in 2020. Since that time, it has deservedly become a popular place for excursions, walks, dates, and photo shoots. The atmosphere is appropriate - beauty and romance at every turn.

The area of ​​Dobropark is equivalent to 400 football fields, there are 16 lakes on the territory. In different seasons, flowers bloom here - petunias, lavender, tulips, begonias, and Liatris. The number of simultaneously flowering plants reaches hundreds of thousands, and sometimes even millions.

Fairs and flower festivals are held in the arboretum. It is advisable to familiarize yourself with the poster in advance to find out what events you can get to. Or not to get in - because on such dates you can stand in line for hours, and, perhaps, you will gladly choose another, a calmer day for your visit.

We also recommend asking what plants are blooming in the park at this moment. At the very least, it will help to dress correctly - so that your friends do not lose you among the petunias, and in the photo, you do not merge with the lavender.

Dobropark suffered during the occupation of the Kyiv region - the Russians destroyed some buildings, destroyed and stole equipment. But already in 2022, the dendrological park resumed work and worked until the season closes in the fall.

By the way, on the way to Motyzhin, you can stop at the Victoria Films Studio. Visitors are not allowed into the "Ukrainian Disneyland", but here you can take a picture against the backdrop of a copy of the Disney castle and sit in the same chair from the "Game of Thrones".

🐴 Kievan Rus Park

Where is: the village of Kopachev, Obukhovsky district (29 kilometers along the Zhytomyr highway)

How long to travel: from the Vydubychi metro station - about 40 minutes, from the center - 50-60 minutes.

"Park Kievan Rus" is a special place on the map of the Kyiv region. Here, ancient Kyiv of the period of the 5th-13th centuries was recreated within its historical center - Kyiv Detinets or the so-called City of Vladimir. According to the authors of the project, the architectural image of the city in the park has been rebuilt in full, on a scale of 1:1.

You already understood: for lovers of history, this place is a must-visit! But we are sure that the authentic atmosphere of ancient Kyiv will not leave indifferent even those who do not distinguish Vladimir the Baptist from Svyatopolk the Accursed.

The park offers activities to immerse yourself in the everyday life of Kievan Rus. Horse shows (it has its own stable), costume festivals, street theater, fighting tournaments - a lot of impressions are guaranteed.
